NC Governor Roy Cooper today underwent an elective procedure to repair a herniated disc that was causing lower back pain. The governor is alert and resting, reading bills and directing staff. Today’s procedure took place at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
The Governor joked that this is what happens when he does too many sit ups. Governor Cooper will be checking out of the hospital on May 7 and he looks forward to resuming state trips.
