The 1897 Market restaurant scored an 86.50 B on a health department inspection

The 1897 Market restaurant inside the Charlotte Douglas International Airport scored an 86.50 B on a September 30, 2024 food safety inspection. The location is 5501 Josh Birmingham Parkway Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Employee drink bottles were stored over food prep areas. There were no hand towels at the hand sink in the hallway area near the dish machine and food prep area.

Utensils were not properly cleaned and had food film on them. The dish machine in the bar area had 0 ppm sanitizer.

Bacon, cheese, and chicken were being cold held at unsafe temperatures above 41 degrees.

Numerous small flies, fruit flies, and gnats were in the kitchen area. Rodents were at the 1897 Market in 2024, the health department shut the restaurant down for 3 days.

Also in February 2024 roaches were seen in the kitchen of 1897 Market restaurant.
