ARREST MADE AFTER VICTIM KILLED AT BP GAS STATION

Jonathan Best-Edmonds, 25, was arrested on July 14, 2020 charged with the murder of Allen Smith, 52.

On July 11, 2020 Allen was killed at the BP gas station located at 5724 E W.T. Harris Boulevard near Milton Road in Charlotte NC.  

Allen was inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the BP Station when shots rang out directly at him. Allen died on scene.

On July 14 Jonathan was apprehended by CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and transported to the law enforcement center to be interviewed by detectives. At the conclusion of the interview, Jonathan was transferred to the custody of the jail and charged with first degree murder.
