Megan Valentine, 44, was arrested on November 5, 2024 accused of murdering her husband 41-year-old Illinois Second Judicial Circuit Court Judge Michael Valentine in Albion, Illinois.
Judge Michael was murdered in a shooting on Election Day 2024. The judge was found dead after being shot on a street outside his home around noon on November 5th.
The judge’s wife identified as Megan was arrested charged with first degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated domestic battery.
Michael served as second circuit judge since 2022. Previously, he was elected to serve as a circuit judge in 2016, and also served as Edwards County State’s Attorney.
There is no indication on what led to the altercation, but it is reported the judge and his wife were having a domestic violence occurrence.
The judge leaves behind 2 children.
