Laura was at the airport catching a flight. She went to Charlotte’s Landing bookstore and gift shop at the airport to purchase a $3 Powerball lottery ticket.
Even with all of the hustle, rude customer service, rough handling baggage employees, (they throw your bags hard and damage contents) and long lines at the airport, Laura got a winning ticket in the amount of $500,000. The airport has a host of problems, some people are even killed there.
Laura recognized she won and was happy. She claimed her winnings at lottery headquarters in Raleigh on December 18, 2025 after the main Powerball drawing. Lottery winners are vast in Charlotte.
After annoying and obtrusive federal and state taxes, Laura had $358,751 directly deposited into her bank account.
