30-year-old Bianca Broom was killed in a fatal hit and run crash that occurred on West Boulevard Charlotte, NC. The crash was on July 31st, 2021 just after midnight. Michael Green, 39, is charged in the crash.
The initial investigation has revealed that Bianca was crossing West Boulevard when she was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The Chevrolet was allegedly driven by Michael and officials say the truck was traveling at an excessive speed.
Bianca was found severely injured and was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency personnel.
The truck did not stop at the crash site. The truck continued to drive until it some how became disabled farther down on West Boulevard.
A cop located Michael and the Chevrolet shortly after the crash. Officials say that Michael was found to be impaired by an alcoholic beverage. In addition to impairment, excessive speed was believed to have been a factor in the crash according to investigators.
Witnesses at the scene stated the truck was traveling at an excessive speed.
Michael was arrested and charged with felony death by vehicle, felony hit and run, driving while impaired, and open container.
