Melanie is charged with driving drunk and speeding while her children were in the car. Melanie’s breath smelled like alcohol
Melanie Merlos, 22, was arrested on June 8, 2026 accused of DWI on Interstate 77 in Charlotte, NC. Melanie was driving on the interstate allegedly speeding going 85 mph in a 55 mph zone with her 2 children in the vehicle.
A cop pulled her over but Melanie is accused of failing to stop immediately. When Melanie finally did stop, the cop approached her and Melanie’s breath smelled like liquor. Melanie also allegedly had slurred speech and red glossy eyes. Melanie is accused of fighting with the officer during her arrest.
Melanie was arrested charged with speeding, DWI, child abuse, resist cop, reckless driving, and failed to heed siren. It is unknown what happened to her 2 kids in the car.
