WIND AND RAIN STORM BRING DOWN GIGANTIC TREE, POWER KNOCKED OFF

Date:

A large winter storm consisting of cold temperatures, rain, and wind made its way to Charlotte, NC on January 9, 2024. The storm caused school and all court cases to be cancelled.

Rain and wind brought down a tree in the city, as the tree hit utility lines. Thousands of people lost power in North Carolina due to the winter storm.

Crews are working to clean the cluttered mess from the tree. It appears all the wind and rain softened the ground at the tree roots, the weight of the tree forced the tree to fall down, blocking a roadway.

No injuries were reported. But there is a light traffic jam and routes are being diverted.
