On May 16, 2023 a shoot out between police with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and a suspect occurred at a Motel 6 in Anderson, Indiana.
Brooke Badger and Jon Niccum were staying at a room in the Motel 6. Motels generally scan ID’s of everybody in a motel room, and then give that information to police.
Police were then notified that Brooke and Jon were in the Motel 6 and had warrants for their arrest. Jon was wanted for violation of work release and escape. Brooke was wanted for similar charges.
Cops arrived at the motel room of the suspects and knocked on the door. The cops were dishonest and said they were the “front desk”.
Unassuming, Brooke opened the door and cops put cuffs on her. Another cop entered the room while Jon was in the bed.
Cops told Jon to show his hands and pointed a gun at him. Jon then shot at cops while he was in bed.
Cops shot back, but reported none of their bullets hit Jon.
A SWAT team was called out, and Jon was found dead in the motel bathroom in what cops say was self inflicted gunshot wound. No cops were shot by Jon’s gunfire.
