On May 19, 2024 Devoreia Thompson, 33, was accused of shooting a police officer and another man in Fort Worth, Texas.
A suspect is seen on video walking up to an alley talking with a man. The suspect then shot the man in the shoulder, causing bleeding.
The suspect then drove off. The victim called 911 and gave a suspect description. Police tried pulling over the suspect in a traffic stop.
The suspect stopped, got out of the vehicle and then shot at police. The officer was shot. The suspect then drove off, the officer returned fire and shot the suspect in the back.
The officer gave chase to catch the suspect, but the officer’s car was damaged in the shooting and could not engage in the chase anymore.
The suspect was able to getaway. But the next day cops were able to track the residence of the suspect. A SWAT team was called in and the suspect was arrested.
It was observed that the suspect had a gunshot wound to the back from the shootout with police during the traffic stop.
Devoreia was identified as the suspect and charged with aggravated assault on an officer and aggravated assault.
