On January 22, 2023 Nashali Alma, 24, was attacked by a man inside the Inwood Park Apartments in the community gym. The attack was in Tampa, FL. Xavier Thomas-Jones, 25, was arrested via the incident.
Nashali was exercising alone, when Xavier came to the gym entrance without a key fob. Nashali saw Xavier at the door and let him in. Nashali opened the door because Xavier was someone she’d seen previously in the gym.
As Nashali continued her workout, the suspect approached her and attempted to grab her waist. Nashali yelled at the man, demanding that get away from her, but he continued to chase her around the gym.
The suspect then grabbed and pinned Nashali on the floor. Nashali continued to fight him off while attempting to call 911. The suspect even body slammed Nashali.
Eventually, the suspect released his grip on Nashali, and she immediately ran out of the gym.
The next day on January 23, 2023 Xavier was arrested and charged with sexual battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping.
