Video shows a CATS Charlotte bus abandoned and wrecked on street. The driver said the hell with this snow storm
The snow storm stopped a CATS (Charlotte Area Transportation System) city bus from operating. Video shows the bus wrecked and abandoned on January 31, 2026 in Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The snow storm dumped 10 plus inches of snow on Charlotte and surrounding areas. More snow is expected later in the week.
The bus was driving with passengers on board when it slid on the ice and wrecked off the road. The driver and the passengers left the bus. Some got UBERS and ride share services to leave.

A backup bus also arrived to help the dislocated riders and driver. The city shutdown all bus service today at 3 p.m.
We are not sure of any injuries. There was a multi car pile up crash on Independence Blvd. today.
The winter storm has been very intense all across North Carolina.
