On February 8, 2023 one person was killed and 5 people were injured after a vehicle collided with another vehicle and ran into a building, causing the building to collapse. The crash was in Baltimore, Maryland. 54-year-old Alfred Fincher is the dead victim.
At 8:55 p.m., a officer in an unmarked vehicle observed a black Hyundai Sonata that was reported stolen. An officer attempted a traffic stop, but the Hyundai failed to stop.
A police pursuit began at high speeds. The Hyundai entered an intersection where it collided with a sedan.
Both the Hyundai and the sedan struck a pedestrian identified as Alfred who was standing on the sidewalk. The suspect vehicle then crashed into a vacant row home.
The building then collapsed on the vehicles and on Alfred. Thousands of bricks are seen falling on the vehicles, completely covering them. Cops had to pick the bricks up one by one just to get to the victims.
The occupants of both cars were taken to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries. Alfred was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai was taken into custody by Baltimore Police.
