On May 3, 2021 District Judge Max O. Cogburn Jr. sentenced Benjamin Swain, 47, to 25 years in prison on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor in Charlotte, NC.
Benjamin was a tennis coach in the greater Charlotte, NC area. Benjamin admitted in court that beginning in at least 2016, and on at least two different occasions, he secretly recorded three minor girls with a pen camera while they were undressing and showering.
One of the girls found the camera and went to police. Benjamin was arrested. On December 9, 2019, Benjamin pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor.
Benjamin was previously sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes in a case out of the state of Georgia.
In the Georgia case Benjamin was coaching and secretly text-messaging a girl. He fondled the girl and tongue kissed her on multiple occasions.
Benjamin also had the girl fondle him.
The girl’s parents found seductive and explicit text messages from Benjamin on the girl’s phone. In this case Benjamin pleaded guilty to child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes, he even admitted to the allegations with the minor girl.
Benjamin who is a British citizen will also be subject to deportation proceedings upon completion of his federal prison sentence.
