On July 9, 2021 3 people were arrested and charged with the murder of Ah’miyahh Howell, 9. A 4th suspect who is 17-years-old was also arrested and charged with murder, although he/she is not pictured or named due to age. The arrested are Nasir Turner, 18, Donnell Ellison, 19, and Sayqwon Miller, 19.
Ah’miyahh was killed in a dangerous drive-by shooting in Statesville, NC on June 28, 2021. Ah’miyahh was shot on Wilson Lee Blvd. She and her 7-year-old male family member were shot at home when a vehicle drove by and fired several shots. Both kids were shot. Ah’miyahh died from the shooting.
The boy was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The boy suffered a broken leg and pelvic bone complications.
All of the suspects are charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, felony conspiracy, and discharging a weapon into occupied property causing serious bodily injury.
