Micheal Thomas, 18, David Burns, 19, Isaiah Richardson, 19, and Trliek Stevenson, 18 have all been charged in this case.
On October 2, 2019, at around 10:00 p.m., numerous community members in the Woodbridge neighborhood near Yateswood Drive Charlotte, NC called 911 to report several gunshots were heard in the area.
Officers arrived immediately after the calls were received and located three vehicles which had been shot into and nearly 20 shell casings of various calibers. Swift identification of a suspect vehicle was depicted as a white Toyota Rav4.
Soon thereafter, the Toyota with the four suspects was located and officers attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to stop and fled from officers. Due to the violent nature of the suspects’ actions and the danger they posed to the community, officers initiated a vehicle pursuit.
The near-seven-mile pursuit ended when the Toyota collided with a GMC Yukon near the intersection of Providence Road and Fairview Road. The four suspects fled from the vehicle were apprehended almost immediately.
Once all suspects were in custody detectives and Crime Scene Search responded to conduct further investigation and process the scene. The investigation revealed the Toyota was one of several vehicles stolen from a dealership on September 29, 2019.
A search of this Toyota and of the scene resulted in the seizure of three firearms. The suspects were identified and charged.
No one was located shot, and there were no injuries as a result of the motor vehicle collision.
