Taze Pritchett, 33, was killed in a hit and run head on collision on September 17, 2023 in Charlotte, NC. Nazir Hayman, 19, was arrested on September 20, 2023 accused of killing Taze.
Taze was the passenger in a 2019 Dodge Challenger driven by a female. A stolen 2015 Land Rover was speeding and hit the Dodge as it was making a left turn on Idlewild Road near Independence Blvd.
The driver and passenger of the Land Rover fled the scene immediately after the crash. Nazir was identified as the driver of the Land Rover, cops say.
Taze died on scene. The female driver of the Dodge was taken to the hospital. The female passenger of the Land Rover was found nearby, she suffered injuries from the crash, she was also assaulted allegedly by Nazir.
The driver of the Land Rover was not located. The Land Rover was reported stolen from Charlotte on September 11, 2023. Excessive speed by the Land Rover is a contributing factor for this crash.
As a result of the continued investigation, detectives arrested Nazir on September 20th charging him with:
- Involuntary Manslaughter
- Felony Hit and Run Death
- Felony Hit and Run Personal Injury
- Kidnapping
- Assault on a Female
- Communicating Threats
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
- Felony Witness Intimidation
- Interfering with an Emergency Service Call
- Reckless Driving
- No Operators License
