Jaimarien Sellers, 19, died on June 4, 2023 at the Chatham County Detention Center in Pittsboro, NC.
Around 12:15 a.m. Jaimarien was found unresponsive by his cellmate in a jail cell. The cellmate alerted detention officers and the guards administered CPR on Jaimarien.
However, officers were unable to revive Jaimerien and he was pronounced deceased.
Jaimerien had been in jail since April 28, 2023 held on a $500,000 bond, he was awaiting pre-trial release.The Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The State Bureau of Investigation is also reviewing the matter.
