On July 29, 2026 Jason Scott, 18, pled guilty to killing Lorin Manley, 45, and her mother Gloria Manley, 80. The deaths were 2 days after Christmas on December 27, 2025 in a car crash on Red Rust Lane and Ardrey Kell Road Charlotte, NC. According to court records, Jason entered a guilty plea to two counts of involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Jason was going 100 mph when he slammed into the vehicle Lorin and her mom Gloria were in, a 12 year old was also in the vehicle with the women.
But months later Jason pled guilty to lesser charged per part of the plea agreement, so prosecutors dismissed the two second degree murder charges.
Jason was sentenced to 31 to 50 months in prison on a suspended sentence. He must serve 36 months of supervised probation and spend 180 days in jail.
Jason also cannot drive during his probation, and must provide a DNA sample.
