A mom and daughter were killed by a teenager 2 days after Christmas

Jason Scott, 18, was arrested on January 12, 2026 accused of killing Lorin Manley, 45, and her mother Gloria Manley, 80. The deaths were 2 days after Christmas on December 27, 2025 in a car crash on Red Rust Lane and Ardrey Kell Road Charlotte, NC.

Gloria, Lorin, and a juvenile were in a 2011 Honda SUV. Jason was driving a BMW. At some point the vehicles collided.

Speed was a factor in the crash. Gloria and Lorin died instantly. The juvenile victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Jason was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. After several weeks in the hospital, Jason was released and then arrested charged with manslaughter and assault with deadly weapon.
