On September 17, 2021, Emanuel Jackson, 37, and Rodney Grier, 32, were killed in a motor vehicle accident in Charlotte, NC. Leroy Hopkins, 26, is charged with reckless driving and involuntary manslaughter.
The wreck was on Wilkinson Blvd and involved two-motor vehicles. Emanuel and Rodney were in the same vehicle.
Leroy was driving and traveled through the intersection allegedly at a very high rate of speed before striking the vehicle that Emanuel and Rodney were in.
The collision caused the victim vehicle to be pushed off the road and into a utility pole.
Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced Rodney and his passenger Emanuel deceased on the scene. Leroy was transported to Atrium Health Center Main with minor injuries.
Leroy was later arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving, and involuntary manslaughter.
