SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER COLLEGE BASKETBALL STAR MURDERED

Michael Withers, 25, is charged with the murder of college basketball star Haiishen Mcintyre, 27. The suspect was arrested on October 11, 2021 in Charlotte, NC.

Haiishen played basketball for High Point University in North Carolina.

Haiishen was shot during a street basketball game at North Mecklenburg Park, 16131 Old Statesville Road Huntersville, NC on August 29, 2021.

An altercation of some sort occurred, and shots were fired. Haiishen was rushed to the hospital and underwent many surgeries, however several days after the shooting, Haiishen died in early September 2021.

First authorities said a black man was the suspect, then they changed the suspect to a Latino man, and now Michael has been arrested and charged with the murder.
