SUSPECT ARRESTED ACCUSED OF MURDERING MAN

On June 13, 2023 Justin Rix, 28, was charged with the homicide of Reginald Gilkesson, 29. The victim was killed on June 11, 2023 on Atkins Circle Drive Charlotte, NC.

Reginald was murdered at apartments at 4:30 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon 911 call. Reginald was found by cops dead after being shot several times.

The CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team arrested Justin two days after the murder. Justin was transported to the Law Enforcement Center in uptown Charlotte where he was interviewed by detectives. 

At the conclusion of the interview, Justin was charged with murder and shooting into an occupied property.
