Toxic relationships can lead to murder very fast
39-year-old Thomas Gardner is charged with the murder of Hope Kennedy, 45. The murder occurred on December 23, 2021 in Catawba County, NC.
Thomas is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend Hope during an argument.
During the argument, things escalated into a physical fight between Thomas and Hope. Officers were called around 1:45 a.m. to a home on Maple Court. When police arrived they found Hope shot.
Also inside the home was Thomas and their two teenage children.
Hope was taken to the Catawba Valley Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Thomas is charged with second degree murder. The teenagers in the home were not injured during the murder. The kids are now in custody of a family member.
