Belton Platt, 38, was arrested on November 29, 2024 charged with the murder of Demond Dixon in Charlotte, NC. Demond was murdered on Thanksgiving day November 28, 2024. Sadly Thanksgiving homicides are common in Charlotte.
At 6:30 p.m. Demond was shot on West Blvd. while millions of people around the nation were eating Thanksgiving dinner. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram. Patrol officers responded to a call for a bodily welfare check. Demond was located shot and unresponsive. Medics transported Demond to Atrium Main Hospital via ambulance. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
