SOUTH CAROLINA MAN CHARGED WITH KILLING BABY SON ON CHRISTMAS EVE

Date:

Ashton Clark, 24, has been charged with homicide by child abuse days after authorities said he slammed his 14-month-old son’s head into a wall and then threw him into furniture at a home in Simpsonville, SC.

The baby died on Christmas Eve 2019.

On December 21, 2019 the baby was taken to a pediatric intensive care unit after Ashton allegedly slammed his baby son against a wall twice and threw the child against two different pieces of furniture.

Ashton was initially charged with child abuse to inflict great bodily harm, but his charges were upgraded after his son died on Christmas Eve.

The coroner’s office ruled that the baby was killed by blunt force trauma to his head.

Ashton was denied bond and remains in jail at the Greenville County Detention Center.
