On December 28, 2024 Lucas Armstrong, 28, was killed by police officers at Coyote Joe’s on Wilkinson Boulevard Charlotte, NC. Coyote Joe’s is a hot spot night club and bar. Lucas was a security guard at Coyote Joe’s, he was holding a gun to his own head. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Lucas was at the club when around 11:00 p.m. he took out a gun and began holding it to his head at Coyote Joe’s.
A popular club promoter in Charlotte was arrested accused of fraud and identity theft
Many customers were frightened by the ordeal and 911 was called. It is not known if Lucas was on duty working security at the time.
Lucas was having a mental health episode of some sort. Officers responded to the night club, Lucas was yelling with the gun to his head.
Police tried to talk Lucas down and alleviate the situation. At some point an officer shot and killed Lucas at the Coyote Joe’s, it is not known if Lucas did anything to make the officer shoot or what triggered the cop. Watch video of a triple shooting at a club.
Lucas died on the scene. Cops shoot people all the time, likely without cause, and never have to face accountability, due to their departments claiming the shooting was justified.
In fact the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department has a history of violating peoples Constitutional Rights, mainly the people’s 4th Amendment Right of protection from illegal search and seizure. The cop that killed Lucas will be placed on paid administrative leave.
A firearm possessed by Lucas was located at the scene. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation at the club. Lucas was an avid rugby player. Lucas was a father and leaves behind a loving family.
