REAL ESTATE AGENT MURDERED DURING HOME SHOWING, SUSPECT ARRESTED MONTHS LATER

33-year-old Brandon Braxton was arrested on March 20, 2025 accused of murdering real estate agent Whitney Hurd, 32, in Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram. Brandon formerly played football at Duke University as a wide receiver and safety from 2010 to 2013. Brandon’s father was in NFL.

Whitney was a real estate in the bustling Charlotte market. She was murdered in July 2024 on Werburgh Street while doing a house showing for clients.

Whitney was first reported missing to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department by her family on July 11, 2024. Sadly on July 14, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Whitney was found dead at a residence on Werburgh Street. 

Whitney’s white BMW was also stolen. On March 20, 2025 Brandon was arrested charged with Whitney’s murder.

Whitney was a real estate agent in Charlotte and surrounding areas. She graduated from Providence High School and went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina.

Brandon was a high profile athlete at Providence high School in Charlotte, he got a scholarship to play football at Duke.
