Veronica was a cop for 29 years, she rose to promotions multiple times and eventually became an assistant chief with the police department. In 2020 she retired. It is common for cops to die, rather on duty or off duty.

Veronica dibbled and dabbled with real estate too. Veronica came down with a debilitating illness. She was hospitalized for it, but even after top notch care, Veronica died from her disease at Atrium Health Hospital.

Veronica was a member of the black female AKA sorority. Another member of the AKA sorority died in June 2025.

An AKA sorority member also died at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center

As of yet, there is no connection between the deaths of the two women. Fraternities and sororities have made the news often.
