POLICE OFFICER SHOOTS PERSON ON BEATTIES FORD ROAD

On February 8, 2024 one person was shot by police on Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC. The shooting could of been avoided had officers not approached the group.Officers saw two people at a convenience store around noon. The noisy cops assumed the group was selling drugs and decided to approach them.

One individual in the group began running away. Cops chased the suspect. The suspect was seen with a gun as he/she was running away.

Cops assumed the individual was attempting to point the gun at them and shoot, so one officer shot the suspect. Click here to see video of the many police involved shootings.No police were shot. The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A gun was found at the scene.The State Bureau of Investigation will investigate the shooting. The officer who fired the shot has been put on administrative leave.
