OFFICER KILLED AT SOUTH CAROLINA AIRPORT DURING TRAFFIC STOP

An officer was killed early Sunday morning January 5, 2020 in an officer-involved shooting at Florence Regional Airport in Florence, SC.

The shooting was reported before 6 a.m. and involved an Airport Public Safety Officer during a traffic stop. The officer was shot and the suspect initially fled the scene but was later apprehended by deputies.

This is the first officer involved shooting in South Carolina in the year 2020.
