NO ONE GOES TO JAIL AFTER MAN SHOT DEAD, DA REFUSES TO PURSUE CHARGES

On January 4, 2022 authorities decided that a man’s killing was justified. No charges will be filed after Antone Sloan, 40, was shot and killed on December 29, 2021 on Hamilton Circle Charlotte, NC.

Legal officials have classified this case as a justified homicide. The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office has consulted with Homicide Unit detectives and agreed that no one will be charged in this case.

The homicide was at 11:51 am. Officers responded to reports of shots fired. The caller advised they had shot Antone and that Antone had fled the scene in a vehicle.

Shortly after the call, officers located a motor vehicle crash where they found Antone to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medic transported Antone to Atrium Health Hospital.

The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

OTHER JUSTIFIED HOMICIDE CASES

No charges were filed after college basketball star Eric Howell, 29, was shot and killed.

Jonquil Thompson was killed, the shooter walked free after district attorneys choose not to file charges.

Tulvel McDougald, 27, was killed by a man in a shooting during a domestic disturbance, the shooting was ruled justified.

16-year-old Vontairius Doster’s death was ruled as a justified homicide.

No charges were filed after a man was shot and killed during NBA All-Star Weekend 2019 in Charlotte.

On December 14, 2021 the decision was made not to charge anyone in the shooting death of Detreye Walker, 48.
