Today authorities in Costa Rica say that Carla Stefaniak’s body has been found on the Airbnb property where she went missing.
Carla Stefaniak, 36, is from Miami Florida and was on vacation in Costa Rica.
Carla traveled with her sister-in-law to Costa Rica on November 22, 2018. Carla had plans to return to the United States on November 28, but she never arrived for her flight. Carla had not been seen alive since November 27.
Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Agency said that Carla was buried in a mountainous area located in the back of the Airbnb Villa Buena Vista property where she had been staying.
Walter Espinoza, the Director General of the Judicial Investigation Agency said,
“The body was in a state of decomposition but the preliminary observation.”
The Airbnb listing for Villa Buena Vista has since been removed from Airbnb’s website.
