Marquez Williamson, 22, and Bricard Washington, 25, along with a 16-year-old-male were charged with the murder of Katie Eckerd, 27, in Charlotte, NC.
Katie was killed in a shooting on July 21, 2020 on West Sugar Creek Road. There was an armed robbery in the parking lot of a shopping center. Katie was shot in a parked vehicle and later died.
During the course of the investigation, officers located a vehicle they had reason to believe was involved in this homicide. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle, which was occupied by the suspects.
All three suspects were charged with murder, three counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
