On March 15, 2023 Rogelio Ramirez, 32, was found guilty of second degree rape and second degree sex offense in Charlotte, NC. In addition to going to prison, Rogelio also has to register as a sex offender for 30 years.

In December 2019, a woman was celebrating with friends in Charlotte’s South End. She was intoxicated from Vodka and Hennessy, so her friends put her in an Uber to drive her home.
At some point after being dropped off, she encountered Rogelio, and she awoke to Rogelio raping her in her apartment.
The woman lost consciousness, and when she awoke again, Rogelio was gone. The woman went to the hospital and said she was raped. A sexual assault exam was performed and DNA was collected around the woman’s vagina. Police were notified.
Meanwhile, Rogelio had used the woman’s credit card to buy gas and breakfast at Waffle House after sex. Perhaps he sexed up an appetite.
Police used that information to identify and locate Rogelio through videos and vehicle information. His DNA matched the DNA found during the lady’s sexual assault exam.
When police searched Rogelio’s vehicle, they found items belonging to the woman.
In December 2019 Rogelio was arrested and charged with rape among other charges. Fast forward to March 2023 at the criminal court trial, Rogelio was sentenced to a total of 144-294 months in prison.
