On January 29, 2023 a triple shooting occurred at a party in Winston Salem, NC. 29-year-old Darryl Rice was murdered during the shooting. A 17-year-old kid and another man were shot and left in critical condition.
A building was rented out for a private party on North Liberty Street. Hundreds of people were at the party. Around 5:18 a.m. shots rang out during an argument.The argument spilled out into the parking lot and several shots were fired. Darryl was shot, along with a teenager and a 23-year-old man.
Police were called and when they arrived, Darius was found suffering from gunshot wounds in front of the business. Darius was pronounced dead at the scene. The 23-year-old man the 17-year-old victim were taken to the hospital, where they received care; they are expected to survive.
