Bernard McGill, 60, was killed in a deadly collision on March 9, 2022 on West Sugar Creek Charlotte, NC. 72-year-old Demetrich Ann Carraway Evans is charged with Bernard’s death.
Bernard was riding a moped bike around 7 in the evening when a Chevrolet Malibu allegedly driven by Demetrich turned into the path of Bernard, cops say.
The left turn caused Bernard to strike the front of the Chevrolet as it was turning. Bernard was wearing a helmet and the moped lights were functioning at the time of the crash. Speed is not a factor in this crash.
Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced Bernard deceased. Demetrich did not sustain any injuries.
Demetrich is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield right of way.
