Shaquon Thompson, 31, was killed in a motorcycle collision on June 14, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. 19-year-old Moo Paw is charged with death by motor vehicle in the accident.
The crash was at 9:00 p.m. on East W T Harris Boulevard and the Delta Crossing Lane intersection.
Shaquon was operating a motorcycle and as Shaquon was approaching Delta Crossing Lane, Moo operating a Kia, pulled out in front of Shaquon.
The motorcycle and the Kia collided, the impact separated Shaquon from the motorcycle. Officials say speed is a contributing factor for the motorcycle. Shqquon died on scene from the crash.
Speed was not a contributing factor for the driver of the Kia.
Moo was screened for impairment and was found to have consumed an impairing substance. Moo was arrested, charged with DWI, window tint violation, no operator’s license, possession of marijuana over a half ounce, and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
