A man identified as Leon Daniels was killed in a massive head on collision on Wilkinson Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Leon died on March 29, 2023 days after the crash.
The crash occurred on March 25, 2023, at approximately 3:44 p.m., Leon was driving with his wife in a Toyota. A Ford vehicle driven by another man ran a red light at the intersection of Wilkinson Boulevard and Morris Field Drive.
The at fault vehicle then struck Leon and his wife head on, causing the Toyota to slide to the left and collide into the right side of a 3rd Nissan vehicle.
The Toyota then overturned. The driver of the Ford identified as Terence McBride was taken to Novant Health Hospital with minor injuries.
Leon and his wife were transported by Medic to Atrium Health Main Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan declined transport to the hospital.McBride was cited for driving with a suspended license, having an expired registration and driving with no vehicle insurance.On Wednesday, March 29, 2023 Leon was pronounced deceased at Atrium Health Main Hospital due to injuries he sustained in the collision. Following Leon’s death, detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit obtained an arrest warrant on McBride for misdemeanor death by vehicle.
