On November 10, 2019, Emery Springs, 27, died after being hit by a car. Emery was hit on November 7, 2019 Valeview Lane Charlotte, NC.
A Hyundai Elantra was traveling on Vailview Lane when it struck Emery who was walking in the roadway. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene; and did not show signs of impairment.
Speed does not appear to be a contributing factor in this crash. Emery was wearing dark colored clothing.
In addition, it was raining at the time of the crash and the roadway at that location is not illuminated by street lights.
Emery sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center. However, on Nov. 10 Emery died from his injuries.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the Hyundai.
