MAN CHARGED WITH FORGING OVER $3,000 IN CHECKS

32-year-old Vernard Gregory has been charged with cashing forged checks worth more than $3,000. The checks were allegedly drawn from a Statesville business’ account in North Carolina.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of multiple forged business checks in the name of One 11 Automotive Renovations, in Mooresville, NC being cashed at banks in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Walkertown, North Carolina, from June 28th through July 1st, 2019.

Vernard was identified as a suspect.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Vernard on four counts of Felony Identity Theft, and four counts of Felony Uttering a Forged Instrument.
