MAN BEAT AFTER MEETING WITH PEOPLE ON GAY APP GRINDR

Desmond Myers, 21, and Daquavis Autry, 19, are accused of beating a man after meeting on the gay app Grindr.  

On January 18, 2020, at 11:28 a.m., an adult male victim was assaulted on Dupont Drive Charlotte, NC. 

The investigation revealed that the victim had met someone on the Grindr app, and invited him to his residence. Desmond and Daquavis are accused of coming to the victim’s residence on January 18, 2020.

During this incident, the suspects are accused of assaulting the victim by choking him to the point of unconsciousness as well as striking him in the head with a blunt object. When the victim woke up, he was allegedly still being assaulted but was able to break free and call for assistance from his roommate. 

At that point, both suspects fled the scene. 

The suspects were identified as Desmond and Daquavis, they were both arrested on February 4, 2020 charged with Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, and Kidnapping.
