MAN ATTEMPTS SUICIDE ON WEST SUGAR CREEK

On February 9, 2023 a black male attempted suicide on West Sugar Creek Charlotte, NC.

Around 1:30 a.m. the man was seen on a bridge overpass threatening to jump onto I-85. The man was on the outside of the bridge hanging onto the railing.

In January 2023 a man attempted to commit suicide, after busting a window at the luxury Marriott Hotel in center city Charlotte, and tried to jump. Police talked him down.  

Police were seen around the man on West Sugar Creek trying to convince him not to jump. The attempted suicide caused West Sugar Creek and Interstate 85 to be shutdown in all directions.

At this time it is not known if the man jumped or not.
