MAN ARRESTED CHARGED WITH MURDERING GIRLFRIEND IN STABBING ATTACK ON JUNETEENTH

Blood filled the apartment entrance as Saniya was killed on Juneteenth

Tawaun Lee, 31, was arrested on June 22, 2026 charged with murdering his girlfriend Sa’Niya Briana Charise Latimore, 23. The victim was stabbed to death on the Juneteenth holiday meant to celebrate black freedom.

Saniya was killed on June 19, 2026 at apartments on Scaleybark Road Charlotte, NC. Tawaun is accused of stabbing Saniya during an argument over a cell phone. Neighbors heard Saniya crying for help and they called cops.

Neighbors also saw blood spilling out of the apartment door entrance. Tawaun is accused of jumping off of the back balcony and fleeing the scene before cops arrived. Violence and murders always occur during Juneteenth celebrations.

Police arrived and knocked the door down. They saw Saniya laying on the ground bleeding profusely. Blood covered the floors and walls. Saniya died on scene.

Tawaun was arrested days later on June 22nd charged with murder.
