57-year-old Juan Maciel was killed on the job. He was an employee at the Martin Marietta Rock Quarry located on Texland Boulevard Charlotte, NC. Juan was killed on March 5, 2025. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Around 11 a.m. Juan was working at the Martin Marietta rock quarry when a work accident took place.
The rock quarry yard is deep down in large dug up crater areas spanning over 50 yards long.
It is believed Juan fell from a piece of equipment, perhaps a very deep drop. Other employees saw the work accident and called EMS.
Juan died on scene. OSHA is investigating the incident. There have been so many deadly work place accidents this year in Charlotte.
Juan leaves behind loving family and friends.
