FIRE AT MULTI STORY BUILDING ON INDEPENDENCE BLVD.

On February 5, 2021 a heavy fire ignited inside of a commercial office building at the intersection of East Independence Blvd. and Pierson Drive in Charlotte, NC. It took 68 firefighters to control the fire. One person was hurt and was transported to the hospital.

The fire department’s rapid intervention teams had to use saws and prying tools to force open steel doors for firefighters safety during the blaze. The commercial building is nearly 10 stories high, and it is abandoned, ugly, and old. The building was built over 40 years ago.

It took several minutes for the fire department to put out the fiery blaze in the building. The fire is under investigation.
