Malek Moore, 29, died after an apparent suicide on December 29, 2021 at the Tabor Correctional Institution in Tabor City, NC. Malek is accused of murdering Gabryelle Allnutt, 29, on Labor Day 2021 in Charlotte, NC.
Malek was found unresponsive in his cell around 4:34 a.m. The prison’s first responders performed life saving measures until local paramedics arrived who also worked to resuscitate Malek, he was pronounced deceased at 4:56 a.m.
Law enforcement was notified of the death and is investigating, as is common in these circumstances. The Department of Public Safety is cooperating fully in the investigation and is also conducting its own investigation.
Malek was a habitual felon.
Gabryelle was murdered on East 22nd St. around 5:30 a.m. in Charlotte, NC on Labor Day September 6, 2021. Officers responded to a 911 call for an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, officers and medic located Gabryelle who was not breathing, she was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Malek is accused of murdering Gabryelle. Malek was arrested on September 9, 2021 in Greensboro, N.C. and charged with murder.
