The crash was at 3 p.m. at the intersection of East Franklin Street and Morgan Mill Road. A collision occurred between Wilson’s vehicle and another car.
The crash crumpled up the vehicles, the gas combustion unit of Wilson’s car then sparked and caught fire, immediately engulfing the vehicle in flames.
Wilson and Ja’Miaz were trapped in the vehicle as the car was on fire. The seats began to melt along with the car paint. There have been so many cases where people have burned and died in car fires.
Ja’miaz and Wilson burned alive in the car, the smoke inhalation killed them too. As the father and son died together, 911 crews arrived on scene, but it was too late, the flames were too hot and Ja’miaz and Wilson were dead.
Investigators say speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash. The collision remains under active investigation by the Monroe Police Department Traffic Division.
