On November 6, 2024 Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election. The ex president defeated current Vice President Kamala Harris in a landslide victory. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

The election began on November 5th, but late votes, mail in votes and computer glitches slowed down the final election results.
Trump won several key battle ground swing states including North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Trump took the lead early in the race.
Kamala never caught up with Trump. As of 6 a.m. on November 6th, Trump had 277 electoral votes. Vice President Harris had 224 electoral votes.
The final results took so long to conclude, that Kamala’s campaign went home for the night around 1 a.m.
30,000 ballots had to be recounted in Wisconsin due to a computer glitch. Trump won the state of Wisconsin.
Trump won the election in 2016 against Hillary Clinton and he became the 45th president of the United States, now he will become the 47th president.
