Ykeiah Surratt Lawrence died abruptly, she had daughter
Dr. Ykeiah Surratt Lawrence, 33, died on November 12, 2025 in Shelby, NC. Ykeiah was a mother and wife. Dr. Ykeiah worked at Township Three Elementary School, she recently earned her doctorate degree in education. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Ykeiah died from medical problems. No foul play is suspected. Ykeiah was in the Delta sorority. Her husband was in the Omega fraternity. In fact there have been a few Delta sorority members make the news.
Also the Omega fraternity was recently sued after a pledgee was killed during the Omega pledging process. The Omega pledging process is brutal and requires many members to be hit in the chest with fists and heavy hard paddles, many Omega pledgees are also beat on their rear ends with large heavy wooden paddles.
Video online shows Omega pledgees swallowing the same egg and spitting it into each others mouths in a line, the last person in the line has to swallow that same egg that was in all the other pledgees mouths, YUCK!!
Some Alpha fraternity groups have the egg spitting and swallowing ritual also. Ykeiah was a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro. An official cause of death will eventually be released after a medical post death evaluation.
Funeral arrangements are being made. We have covered other graduates of the University of North Carolina Greensboro that have died too.
